If you thought the first two months of summer were jam-packed with fun for the whole family at the Delaware Beaches, prepare to be overwhelmed when you see what is in store for August. August is often a time of year when out-of-towners make that one final trip to the Delaware Beach Area before the school year begins. The water is warm, the sand is hot, and the vibes are sizzling!

1.    What: Lee Brice  
When: Thursday, August 5 | 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Freeman Arts Pavilion | 31806 Lakeview Drive Selbyville, DE 19975
The Freeman Arts Pavilion has hosted many names over the years, and 2021 is no different. Lee Brice is headed to Delaware this summer to rock the socks off country music lovers far and wide. This event is pod seating only, including family pods that seat up to six and two person pods, ranging in price from $75 to $275. 

2.    What: Rocking the Docks - Sammy Rae & The Friends
When: Thursday, August 5 | 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Grain on The Rocks | 43 Cape Henlopen Drive Lewes, DE 19958
Sammy Rae & The Friends are eight uniquely talented musicians out of New York. From world to jazz to funk, folk and rock, they’ve got it covered. All shows at Grain on the Rocks are on Thursdays 5 to 7 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m. This year brings a new addition: five VIP squares which include access to the dogfish area with shaded tables to watch the show, a dedicated server and access to the full Grain menu.

3.    What: Kristen & The Noise at Paradise Grill
When: Friday, August 6 | 7 to 11 p.m. 
Where: Paradise Grille | 27344 Bay Rd, Long Neck, DE
Kristen & The Noise will be preforming LIVE on the Beach Stage at Paradise Grill. Kristen & The Noise, a 5-piece band from the greater Philadelphia region, has made the trip to Delaware to perform this summer! The group is led by Kristen Kwolek, one of the most electric and entertaining singers and stage performers in the country. Kristen is the total package, a mixture of beauty, elegance, and power, with an incomparable voice, and unmatched stage show.

4.    What: 48th Annual Outdoor Fine Art & Fine Craft Show
When: Saturday, August 7 – Sunday, August 8 | All Day
Where: Rehoboth Art League | 12 Dodds Lane, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
More than 100 artists and artisans from around the county will display and sell their fine art and fine crafts amidst the Rehoboth Art League’s 3.5+ acre wooded campus, just blocks from the busy downtown Rehoboth Avenue in coastal Delaware. The annual Outdoor Show is a juried event yielding exceptional work, and many of the artists actively enjoy demonstrating their creativity during each day of the show. The Outdoor Show is not simply a fine art and fine crafts show, but it is an unforgettable summer event full of activities, including great food, live music, historic tours, children’s activities, artist demonstrations, gallery exhibits, beautiful gardens, the historic Peter Marsh Homestead, and a Dogfish Head Beer Garden.

5.    What: Bettie James Fest Featuring Jimmie Allen
When: Saturday, August 7 | 4 to 11:30 p.m.
Where: Hudson Fields Concerts | 29763 Eagle Crest Rd, Milton, DE 19968
Jimmie Allen has announced plans to host his own festival, the Bettie James Fest, in his hometown of Milton, Delaware on Saturday, August 7 at Hudson Fields. The inaugural lineup will feature Allen as the headliner and special guests DJ Jazzy Jeff, Neon Union, Hero the Band, Chuck Wicks, and Chase Martin. The festival, and Allen’s most recent star-studded project of the same name, are coined after Allen’s late grandmother, Bettie Snead, and late father, James Allen. 

6.    What: Train 
When: Saturday, August 14 | 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Freeman Arts Pavilion | 31806 Lakeview Drive, Selbyville, DE 19975
Train is a multi-Grammy and Billboard award-winning band from San Francisco, that has had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list since the release of their debut self-titled album. Train is bringing their talent to the eastern shore this summer! The only tickets still remaining are pod seating, ranging from $118.00 to $137.00. Rock out to songs like “Meet Virginia,” and “Drops of Jupiter,” with friends and family. Patrons are reminded that they must provide their own seating for the concert. 

7.    What: Central City Orchestra 
When: Sunday, August 15 | 8 to 9:15 p.m. 
Where: 1 Rehoboth Avenue Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
Central City Orchestra is non-stop energy and non-stop fun! This 10-piece super group specializes in high energy dance songs from the past and the hits of today! You will be sure to hear your favorite Motown, Disco, Funk, Contemporary Rock, or Current Pop tune! Join in on the exciting dance moves with the CCO singers and enjoy an evening of family fun that is sure to have everyone tapping their foot!

8.    What: Psychic Medium Mandie Stevenson
When: Sunday, August 15 | 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Where: The Milton Theatre | 110 Union St, Milton, DE 19968
At this event, Mandie will discuss what being a psychic medium is about and present psychic medium and past life readings for various audience members chosen at random. Not everyone in the audience will get a personal reading. There will be a question-and-answer time at the end of the event.

9.    What: 24th Annual Running of the Bull at The Starboard
When: Saturday, August 21 | All Day 
Where: The Starboard | 2009 Coastal Highway Dewey Beach, DE 19970
People of various states of mind, from the brave to the weird to the just plain drunk, gather at the Starboard in Dewey Beach, DE, to run with the Bull. Dressed in the traditional Pamplona white clothing and red bandanas (and the less traditional bikini tops, kilts, clown wigs, and whatever they feel like), the bull runners meet at the Starboard in the early morning hours (which run from 11 AM to 1:30 PM in Dewey) on the appointed day, where they enjoy beverages, loud music, and general pre-run festivities (like the meeting and greeting of the Bull, but mostly just beverages and loud music). At 2 PM, the Run officially begins.

10.    What: Harry Connick, Jr. and his Band — Time to Play!
When: Sunday, August 22 | 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Freeman Arts Pavilion | 31806 Lakeview Drive Selbyville, DE 19975
Audiences of all ages can enjoy the soothing sounds of Harry Connick, Jr. and his band. After many years as a multi-talented entertainer, Connick continues to establish himself as a best-selling musician, singer, composer, and a legendary live performer with millions of recordings sold around the world. Tickets start at $225 for pod seating, and are going fast!

11.    What: Matt Stell
When: Thursday, August 26 | 8 to 11:30 p.m.
Where: Bottle & Cork | 1807 DE-1, Dewey Beach, DE 19971
This summer you can experience Matt Stell preforming live at Bottle and Cork! This six-foot-seven country singer knows how to bring the heat, and for just $30, you can join in on the fun. Grab some drinks with friends and head down to the show!

12.    What: The Jimmies 80’s Flashback Band
When: Friday, August 27 | 8 to 9:15 p.m.
Where: 1 Rehoboth Avenue Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
The Jimmies 80’s Flashback Band is a 5-piece, family friendly rock band playing all the biggest & best hits of the 80’s! They play everything from INXS, Prince and Flock of Seagulls to Billy Idol, Tom Petty, Modern English and Devo. Head back to the 80’s this summer at Rehoboth Beach. 

13.    What: Chase Rice
When: Sunday, August 29 | 8 to 11:30 p.m.
Where: Bottle & Cork | 1807 DE-1, Dewey Beach, DE 19971
Chase Rice is stopping by Bottle & Cork to spread the country music love this August! Sing along to Chase preforming chart-topping hits like “Eyes on You,” and “Lonely If You Are.” Tickets range from just $40 to $50, so get one while they last! 

14.    What: Comedy Club
When: Every Tuesday | 9 to 11 p.m. 
Where: The Starboard 2009 Coastal Highway Dewey Beach, DE 19970
Drink, laugh, and make unforgettable memories when you check out the weekly Comedy Club at the Starboard every Tuesday night. With no cover charge, the audience can spend the night sipping on orange crushes and enjoying delicious food. Do you have the guts to get up on stage? Show Dewey Beach what you are made of!

15.    What: Monday Night - Movies on Dewey Beach
When: Every Monday through August 16th | 8 to 11 p.m.
Where: Dagsworthy Street - Beachside
Bring your family and a beach chair to Dewey Beach for family movie night! Monday night movies will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey. Glow necklaces are available for $1 donation. PARKING is FREE in Dewey Beach between the hours of 5 PM-11 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings!
