Now that April is here, and the season is starting to bloom, events, festivals, concerts and Easter festivities are "springing" up all over the Delaware Beaches. Looking for something to do in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach and surrounding Delaware beach towns? We have got the list of all the latest events. 1. Lewes Tulip Celebration
When: Friday, April 1st -17th
Where: Downtown Lewes
The 13th Annual Lewes Tulip Celebration, jointly sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of commerce and Lewes in Bloom, will officially kick off on April Fool's Day through the 17th. Featuring a Tiptoe to the Tulips Map, Plant & Flower Sales, History in Bloom Walking Tours, Floral Demonstrations and Art Exhibitions. Almost 27,000 tulips and 4,000 spring bulbs were planted in 2021. For more info log on to leweschamber.com. 

 

2. Folger Theatre Costume Display
When: Friday, April 1st-30th 
Where: Lewes Public Library
Costumes on loan from the Folger Theatre of the Folger Shakespeare Library will be on display inside the Lewes Public Library throughout the month. These outfits were used in professional Shakespeare productions performed at the Folger.

 

3. 302 Beer Drinkers' Choice Awards
When: Sunday, April 3rd | 1-5pm
Where: Crooked Hammock, 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes, DE
Brew crews from across the entire State will gather in Lewes at Crooked Hammock Brewery for the 5th 302 Beer Drinkers' Choice Awards on Sunday, April 3rd from 1-5 pm! The best breweries (which is ALL of them, we don't judge, that is where you come in) in all of Delaware will be under one roof! Enjoy and vote on over 24 unique Delaware beers, a commemorative glass, the chance to dress up with friends, and more sudsy silliness than one group of beer-lovers could possibly handle. Get tickets

4. 2022 Spring Home Expo
When: Saturday, April 9th & Sunday, April 10th | Sat 9-4, Sun 10-3
Where: Cape Henlopen High School, Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE
Come see the scores of exhibitors over two days to view the latest in the resort area home market, and home related goods and services. Plenty of free parking is available at Cape Henlopen High School. 5. Schellville Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Saturday, April 9th, Sunday, April 10th & Friday April 15th 

Where: Schellville, behind Tanger Outlets Seaside

30,000 eggs are on the way for the three days and so much FUN for everyone.  Petting Zoo, balloon creations, live music, crafts while supplies last, and a visit with the Easter Bunny are all included in your ticket.  Don't worry, there's more for you adults!  How about some shopping, food trucks, and fantastic adult beverages. 6. Easter Bunny Tea
When: Sunday, April 10th | 1:00pm
Where: The Milton Theatre, 110 Union Street, Milton, DE

Join the Easter Bunny and friends for an interactive Easter Tea that is great for all ages. Yes, they really will be serving tea! Hot or cold tea served with fresh-baked cookie. Characters will sing, dance, and tell stories all while engaging the entire audience. A meet and greet will allow participants to snap a photo with their favorite characters. Featuring an all-star cast of regional youth.

 

7. 54th Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival is April 15 and includes Easter Egg Hunt
When: Friday, April 15th
Where: Cape Henlopen State Park 
The Great Delaware Kite Festival, co-sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, annually takes place at Cape Henlopen State Park on Good Friday. There will be a kite competition, registration begins at 10am, and an Easter Egg Hunt was added to the festivities eight years ago and it will continue to kick off the event at 11 a.m. Over 5,000 eggs filled with candy. Egg Games will follow the highest kite competition and the Easter Bunny will also be making an appearance. For all event times and for more information, please log on to LewesChamber.com. 


8. Easter Bunny Bonanza

When: Sat., April 16 | 10-noon 
Where: Canalfront Park, Lewes, DE
Hop on down to Canalfront Park on April 16, from 10 am to noon. Gather at the dock at 10:30 when Sea Scouts from Ship 198 bring the Easter Bunny ashore. Head to the lawn and help unload a real "boatload" of candy- and sticker filled eggs to take home. Enjoy face painting, a balloon artist, egg painting and a game of mini-tennis. And try your skill at guessing the number of jelly beans in the fish's belly, and winning a cool prize from Kids' Ketch. It'll be a LOT of FUN. And it's FREE!

 

9. Dewey Egg Scoop
When: Saturday, April 16 | Hunts begin at 10:45am, Parade at 11:45am
Where: Van Dyke Beach Street at the Hyatt, Dewey Beach, DE

10. Taco Reho 4/20 Celebration
When: Wednesday, April 20th 
Where: Taco Reho | 18784 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE

This is the 8th annual Joint Collaboration to celebrate the mystical day of April 20th. Taco Reho is teaming up with Grandpa Mac and Arena's to throw a block party in the Taco Reho parking lot next to Taco Reho. Featuring the Fractured Prune donut trailer and some sweet giveaways, entertainment and food specials. 
 

11. Dewey Beer Company Tap Takeover at Lefty's
When: Thursday, April 21st | 7-9pm
Where: Lefty's Alley & Eats, 36450 Plaza Blvd, Lewes, DE 
Dewey Beer Co. will be making a special appearance on April 21st, from 7-9pm, for their monthly Tap Takeover! Taste 6 Dewey Beers, Chef-Paired Bites, and enjoy unlimited Bowling for $30 per person. 12. Oldies Dance
When: Friday, April 29th | 7-10 p.m.
Where: Rehoboth Convention Center, 279 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
Grab your poodle skirts, saddle shoes, mini-skirts, GoGo boots, and disco suits and join DJ Sky Brady!
Dine downtown, then come over to the Rehoboth Convention Center to dance off the calories! DJ Skye Brady will be spinning the 50's, 60's, and 70's for all to enjoy. Desserts, snacks, coffee, tea, soda, and water are included (beer and wine are also available for a $1.00 donation). Get out of the house, get a jump on Spring, and help Rehoboth in Bloom! 13. Rehoboth Beach Gumbo Crawl
When: Saturday, April 30th | 1-4pm
Where: Downtown Rehoboth Beach at Participating Restaurants
The Rehoboth Beach Gumbo Crawl will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 1:00pm–4:00pm. Skip breakfast on Saturday, April 30th, so you can be good and hungry for the 2022 edition of the Rehoboth Beach Gumbo Crawl. 14. Bonfires on the Beach
When: Select Fridays in April, May & Oct
Where: On the beach off of Campbell Place in Bethany Beach | 6-8pm
Bonfires start early this year and will be on Fridays.  Mark your calendars for April 22, 29, May 6, 13, October 7, 14, 21, and 28.

 

15. 17th Annual Bug & Bud Festival
When: Saturday, April 30th | 9am-4pm 
Where: Downtown Milford | Walnut Street, Park Av and the Mispillion Riverwalk
One of Delaware's most popular festivals is finally back! Will include the always popular Spring costume parade featuring adults, children and pets dressed as ladybugs and trees. This year the ladybugs and trees have graciously invited the bees, butterflies and flowers to join in the parade as a show of Springtime solidarity! Arts and crafts vendors will line the streets. There will also be a preview of DMI’s Farmers Market. You will find diverse local entertainment through-out the day; food vendors including funnel cakes and cotton candy; a "KID ZONE" with games and activities; art and nature related hands-on activities for the young at heart, seedling tree giveaways and a petting zoo.
